Camden Healthy Start

Camden Healthy Start improves the health of pregnant individuals, babies and families in the city of Camden and works to reduce the city's high infant mortality rate. Services include one-on-one care for pregnant individuals and new parents. Camden Healthy Start has a peer support group for dads that offers health education on parenting, pregnancy and child development.

Pregnant individuals and babies in Camden face more health risks than other individuals and babies in the state. Some facts: 

• Twice as many babies in Camden die before their first birthday

• Three times as many pregnant individuals in Camden do not receive prenatal care

• Individuals in Camden are 1.5 times more likely to have a low birth weight baby
