Camden Healthy Start
Camden Healthy Start is dedicated to improving health outcomes before, during and after pregnancy for all families in the city of Camden, with a special focus on supporting Black women and birthing individuals. Recognizing that pregnant individuals and babies in Camden face higher health risks compared to other parts of New Jersey, Camden Healthy Start aims to address these disparities through outreach, case management, education and community engagement. The program offers tailored support and resources for fathers, recognizing their vital role in the health of the family. Services include:
-
One-on-one support for pregnant and parenting individuals including fathers with children up to 12 months old who live in the city of Camden
-
Bilingual staff, fluent in English and Spanish, to support and empower parents and children in their preferred languages
-
Education on pregnancy, parenting and child development
-
Breastfeeding support
-
Screening for maternal depression
